They were up against premier league opposition Campion.

The first half saw Campion come out strong and dominate a lot of the game.

Salts had a penalty given against them which keeper Ian Taylor made a great save from to make it 0-0 at half time.

Second half saw Salts take the lead with a Kyle Berry Goal.

Then in a cruel twist in the 96th minute (not sure where the time came from) Campion got an equaliser.

They then threw everything at Salts and they got a winner in the 98th minute to come out victors 2-1.

On behalf of the club can I say what a fantastic effort the players put in and every one of them can be proud of themselves for the performance they put in against higher league opposition.

Also a mention for the large crowd that went along to support the team – was great to see and a credit to the club.

Well done also to Joe Pleasance for getting the man of the match award.

The team are still in the running for promotion so need to keep playing the way they did tonight to hopefully achieve it.

John was selected for his commitment and drive in organising and running the Junior Tennis developement in the Bradford district over the last 6 years.

C ongratulations John on this fantastic achievement from all at Salts Sports Association.

The works to the Games room have taken longer than expected partly due to the immense amount of work that had to be done sorting out the electrics which were in a very bad state of repair.

This work is now completed and hopefully the rest of the ceiling will be finished next week.

The decorating will be completed as soon as the new serving hatch as been installed.

The repositioned bar seating, stools and chairs will be ready by the beginning of April.

The committee would like to extend their thanks to all the tradesmen involved and especially the few club volunteers who have done a tremendous amount of work to help bring the conversion to fruition, their thanks also go to all members for their patience and understanding whilst the work was in progress.

The site offers visitors detailed information about their tennis, football, cricket and bowls programmes as well as the Shipley Providence Cricket Club.

Visitors can also learn about Salts Sports regular social activities such as the Real Ale Beer Club and its Poker Nights, both of which are held in the Salts Bar. Any other new events will also be announced here.

No membership fees or forms – simply turn up – all welcome.

Each session will see a minimum of 4 real ales been served.

Beers will be a selection from the following breweries:

• Old Spot Brewery
• Wharfe Bank Brewery
• Salamander Brewing Company

The club will open earlier than usual from:

4pm until 11pm

Real ales on these nights will be £2 a pint
